I don’t think this is one of J-Reyez’s best songs. No offense to him, I think he’s a talented artist, but the fact of the matter is that the topics in the video are very typical of most rap songs. He talks about girls, spending money, twerking, and fake titties. Of course any music video discussing those topics have to feature a couple import models. The video does features our homegirl Elizabeth Tran and a couple other models I can’t identify.
Personally I prefer some of J-Reyez’s deeper music, for example, The One with Lydia Paek. A lot of J-Reyez’s recent music have discussed similar topics — a lot of them discuss girls being “hoes” of some kind or about his journey to “get it in.” It seems to be getting rehashed over and over, and there’s no difference with this song. The message is somewhat positive, basically he’s saying to live every life as if it were your last. But all that means is he’s going to try and “get it in” with as many hoes as possible. Here’s another song that has a similar message.
Musically though I’ve always thought J-Reyez has a nice flow and a good voice, and I’d like to see him try something more experimental and new with his lyrics.
So yeah, watch it for the visual appeal, and let me know your opinions of his song.
