Fascinating Photos of a Chinese Ghost Town Meant to Replicate Paris, France

As we all know, Chinese people love replicas.

A day away from Shanghai, Tianducheng is a city created in 2007 to replicate Paris, France. While it was meant to be created as a bustling metropolis, it’s now a ghost town with only about 2,000 residents. It’s got a nice looking Eiffel Tower, very European-inspired buildings, fountains, and architecture.

It’s a wonder that a country with billions of residents have areas that are so sparsely populated.

Here are the photos from Reuters photographer Aly Song.
