Chinese Woman Had 3 Husbands Living in the Same House

A Chinese woman reportedly had 3 husbands at once. The craziest part was that they all lived in the same house.

Polygamy is illegal in China, but that didn’t stop one Chinese woman from marrying 3 different husbands. Husband Zhou Tong was married to Li Xue for 6 years. One day Zhou found his wife’s wedding photo in a closet at their home, except the groom in the photo was not him. In the same closet he also found another man’s clothes. He began to investigate further.

Zhou Tong found out that the man was named Liu Gang, but he claimed his wife was named Zhang Juen. Zhou showed Liu the wedding photo, and the two men realized they were married to the same woman but under different names. They also realized that they were living in the same house as well. But that wasn’t the end to their surprise.

Liu Gang’s brother heard about the story and remembered that his co-worker Chin Bin’s wife was also named Li Xue. After further investigation they found out that Chen Bin was the owner of the house that everyone involved lived in, and that he was also another husband of Li Xue.

So how did the wife fool all three men for so long?

The story goes like this. In 2003 Li Xue married Chen Bin first and moved into his 2nd house in Nanjing, China. Apparently her parents and Chen Bin’s parents were against the wedding so they married but without any formal certification. In 2008, Li Xue met Zhou Tong online and officially married him. She moved Zhou Tong into her home because her husband Chen Bin generally lived in his first home. Zhou Tong also barely stayed at her home because he was always taking business trips. In 2009, she met Liu Gang under the name of Zhang Juen and married him with a fake identity card. Liu was also a man who never stayed over much since he was a busy businessman.

When each respective husband was coming home, the wife Li Xue would tidy up the house to fit the appropriate husband. She would change and rearrange the home decor to match whichever husband was coming home, and she would also hang the correct wedding photo on the wall and put the right clothes in the closet.

Although I think this story is BS, it’s not the craziest thing to come out of China. The source article claims this to be 100% true, but I have my doubts.

It does raise a few questions about the truthfulness of the article, which I believe to be false.

  • What happened when 2 or more husbands came home at the same time? Surely there would have been some schedule conflicts over 11 years of marriage.
  • How come each husband only had so few clothes that it could fit in one closet?
  • Even if Chen Bin was rich, why would he put his wife Li Xue in the 2nd home that he doesn’t visit often? (Sounds like she’s a prostitute).
