Japanese people are not having babies.

The Japanese have a negative population growth due to the fact that most of them don’t have time to have children. Being very career driven and focused, very few people have the time to have families. Some blame the men, who are gravitating towards video games and “cyber” girlfriends.

Some others say that Japanese men are slowly gravitating more towards the sex industry, where they are able to replicate anything from a relationship without actually having to have one. From hostess bars, “cuddle” clubs, and Yakuza-controlled prostitution rings. The magazine VICE sent Ryan Duffy investigate Japan’s burgeoning pseudo-relationship and sex industry.
