Alot of my peers have told me they have a lot of issues with first dates.
“What do I say to her?”
“What if there are awkward pauses?”
“How do I get her back to my place?”
The first date can make or break an entire relationship, so don’t f*ck it up. It’s important that you keep these tips in mind for a better first date.
1) Tailor the date to the girl.
A good date is tailored to the girl you’re taking out. A great date is when you are both doing something that you enjoy. However, you should also consider how familiar you are with each other. If you two barely know each other, then meeting up for coffee or drinks is a sensible choice. It’s something that the girl is more likely to agree to because it’s low-investment for both of you. It’s fairly inexpensive, and either party can bounce at any time if things go badly. If you two are more familiar with each other, then take some time to think about what she might like to do. If she’s adventurous, do something adventurous, like parasailing or indoor skydiving. If she’s into the outdoors, do something outdoors-y, like going for a hike or bike ride. If she’s not the outgoing type, do something a bit more low-key – like a picnic followed by going to a scenic overlook.
2) Take an interest in the girl.
If there’s one thing to take away from this article, it’s that eye contact and body language mean everything. If you can’t make eye contact, then she’ll think that either 1) you have low self-confidence, 2) you’re being dishonest and have something to hide, or that 3) you’re simply disinterested. All three are instant turn-offs. Another thing that drives girls crazy is if you’re constantly checking your phone during a date. Put your phone away at all times, and resist the urge. Body language is huge. Your energy should be high throughout the date. If your energy is low, it will appear to her that you don’t even want to be there. This will sound so common-sense, but SMILE. Some guys just forget to smile. Smiling is contagious, and it releases endorphins that lift the mood.
3) Initiate touch.
This is something some guys struggle with. You want to initiate physical touch, but you don’t want to do too much, too soon. You can lightly touch her arm when emphasizing points. When you hold a door open for her, you can place your free hand on her lower back to lead her in. Be subtle. Observe her reactions. If she reciprocates touch, then you should continue. If she pulls away, then you should at least take a break from touching.Touch is awesome because it releases a hormone called oxytocin. Oxytocin creates trust between two people. Not only that, but it’s a feel-good hormone that is also released during an orgasm!
4) Be chivalrous.
Chivalry is rare in today’s world. That’s why girls always take notice when a guy does something as simple as opening doors. It’s crazy to think that’s the case, but it works in your favor. You have a chance to stand out from the other guys by doing something so simple. When describing good first dates, most girls will recall the fact that the guy was a gentleman.
NUMBER 5: Bounce her from location to location
When you go to multiple locations, you make a date memorable. With more experiences, there’s more of a bond between two individuals. That means before the date, you should plan some places you can go to continue the date. Going to two or three places is ideal; just make sure each place is within close proximity. Also, if she’s agreed to multiple locations with you, she’s more prone to be willing to go back to your place at the end of the night. In her mind, she’s thinking about going back to your place as continuing the adventure.
BONUS: Have an excuse to go back to your place
Whether you’re going back to your place to watch some “funny videos” or catch a movie, make sure you have an excuse to go back to your place. Have alcohol ready to help her relax. Then let the night take you guys to new heights =)
Hope this helps, guys. There’s a lot of articles on what to do on first dates, but most of the advice is VERY common sense.
